Two page Promissary Note from Willian Lunbeck to Samuel Lunbeck, drafted April 14, 1824 in Ross County, Ohio and describing land in Pike County, Ohio. The land will pass to William Chandler (3512) in 1828.
Know all men by these presents that I, William Lunbeck, of the county of Ross and state of Ohio, am held and firmly bound unto Samuel Lunbeck, of the county and state aforesaid, in the debt and full sum of eight hundred & four dollars current money of the United States, to the payment of which I bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators jointly, severally, firmly. By these presents sealed with my seal and dated this 14th day of April eighteen hundred and twenty four.
The condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound William Lunbuck, his heirs, executors or administrators shall issue and truly convey or cause to be conveyed unto the said Samuel Lunbeck, his heirs, executors, administrators or assigns by way of a general warranty deed on or before the first day of June 1824, the following described tract of land lying and being in the county of Pike and state of Ohio to whit – a survey of two hundred acres of land on a Military Warrant No 1917 in name of William Hulse for a like quantity on Pea Pea Creek, beginning at two white oaks and beech on the bank of the creek south east corner to Alexander Fowlers survey No. 1125, running south 200 poles to those beeches on the north bank of the creek, thence west 160 poles, crossing Pea Pea Creek at 22 poles to two Hickories and Dogwood, then north 200 poles, crossing the creek at 140 poles to two Hickories and a sugar tree in Fowler’s line, thence ---- said line East 160 poles, crossing the creek at twenty...... Then and in that case the above obligation to be void and of none effect else to remain in full force and virtue in Law and Equity.
